Who is the best hero in Tears of Metal?

William Wallace is the most balanced and beginner-friendly commander with a strong parry and all-around stats. Ruadh Stonecrusher is the best pick against heavy armor thanks to his armor-breaking warhammer.

How do I unlock all heroes?

Wallace starts unlocked. Other commanders are unlocked through campaign progress, and a few are preview files not yet in the current build. Each hero page shows its exact unlock condition.

What does the village upgrade tree do?

Every commander has a unique camp upgrade tree with permanent stat boosts and gear improvements (for example Wallace has 15 items). These upgrades persist across runs.
